Today is a very special day

20 years ago my mum and dad got married just the year before my eldest sister was born. Many years have past and they have now got 7 children including me. The reason why I picked this title was because.. It my mum and dads ANNIVERSARY!!!!  The best thing about it is they have been together for twenty years and they got married when they were about 17 or 18 very young. Now my parents are the best thing that ever happened to me if it weren't for them I wouldn't be here. My mum  is very special to me because shes always been there for me and always made me feel better when im down or im having drama with other girls, shes the best mum anyone could have. My dad is special to me also even if he will embarrass me with his dancing and singing but hes still good and he does make me laugh.. A LOT!! Whenever my  dad will call me its either massage his feet or do a job for him that goes for my mum too but I dont massage her foot i just do jobs like do a coffee or make her food. Sometimes I will just offer it to them because they deserve it I also clean up their room without them knowing.:P

Reflection of term three

Term three had been a amazing term  so far i have had great memories with all kinds of people mostly my friends. My friends helped me with a lot of stuff in term three, and its going to be very harsh saying goodbye next term. :(

Memories!!
I have a lot of memories to talk about in the previous term.
Disco was one of my favourite memories because we had a lot of fun with the year eights such as dancing with each other, making up funny dances and heaps more.
My favourite memory will have to be making the year eights laugh and them telling that Vinolia and I is their favourite Yr sevens.

It was so amazing getting to know the year eights and how we stood up for each other  either when they needed help with their work or someone was bullying them. The year eights were great brothers and sisters to me.The last day came very emotional to me hugging all my best yr eights and saying goodbye, and also having a laugh with Rowana and Vinolia in assembly because Vinolia was eating her food.

My maths goal will be learning my fractions. The reason why I need to learn my fractions is because whenever I have a maths test I always get my fraction questions wrong and maybe some other ones. I don't really like fractions so I really need to learn them and maybe try and do them every week.

Converting fractions

This math equation is called Conversion tester. Conversion tester helps us with our fractions, decimals and percentages. In this site, the computer gives us a number in any section which is the grey coloured. Me ( myself) or you  have to try to figure out the simplest fraction and the percentage for that number. The grey coloured number can change places when you press next question. Just like the picture below.

Math Whizz Learning

This picture shows what I just did in my math whizz. As you can see worded problems was the math problem I was learning. This helped me with my multiplication because in this math problems you are suppose to multiply thousand or millions with decimals. This Maths problem was easy to do because I know most of this and it was also fun.

How our muscles work.

Whoa! My muscles are aching after all those running. To make your body healthier you need to exercise, eat the right food, sleep, and drink lots of water. I will be doing an explanation about our muscles and discuss how the muscles in the human body work . There are over 600 muscles in our body! So no matter what size you are were all the same.

There are about 6-8 muscles in our body, each of these muscles belong to a particular group. There are three types of our muscles in our body, I’ll start with the smooth muscle. Smooth muscle are found in our intestines, bladder, and lungs. They work by themselves and they also are called involuntary muscles. When a person is gonna throw up that’s when the smooth muscle comes in, they push the food up to the throat out the mouth. Cardiac muscle, Cardiac muscles also move by them self like the heart. The heart is also called a myocardium muscle, It contracts and relaxes and pumps blood through the rest of our body. The last muscle skeletal muscle. A skeletal muscle are called voluntary muscle, it is like involuntary muscle but you decide when and what muscle you’re going to move. This voluntary muscle is connected to your bones and tendons.

How you know when to move your muscles is your brain muscles. The muscles are called Cerebral motor cortex and cerebellum. How it moves your is, the motor cortex send an electrical signal through the body into the muscle you want to move causing them to contract. Muscles move body parts by contracting and memory laxing but they also work with flexor and  extensor, bicep muscle ( a flexor) in the front of your upper arm contracts to bend them while you flexor muscle relaxes. The triceps muscle is the extensor at the back of your upper arm contracts to extend. Deltoids is a muscle that helps move your shoulders, The muscle that is found on each side of your chest is called pectorals. Quadriceps are the muscles that are in your thighs, also the gluteus maximus those muscles are found in your bottom.

healthy and exercising a lot, the right sort of food and lots of water helps your muscle get healthier. Healthy food is great for your body and your muscles it makes it healthier and makes your muscles last longer periods. You will also need to drink lots of water and by lots I mean a lot, why? Because it helps stop your muscles from getting dehydrated. Exercising helps your muscle get bigger and make you get fitter and not just that even the other stuff I said and other things including.

My body is very important to me. I really learnt a lot information about muscles from this explanation. It helps me think about what i should be doing to keep my muscles healthier and it also helps me learn about the muscles in my body. This explanation was the best explanation I have ever done because i have learnt a lot from this and it had things that I did not know.

How the Olympics came to be'

Olympics are a  massive sporting event that takes part in different countries, where each country pick their best athletes to compete against other athletes from all over the world.  This event has a mixture of different sports. This is an explanation of how the olympics has changed, also how the Olympics came to be.

The Olympics begun 2,700 years ago in Olympia, in south west Greece, Every four years around 50,000 people went to Olympia to either participate or watch the Olympics happening. The Ancient games were also a religious festival held in honours of Zeus, the kings of gods. The Greeks loved sport and thought they celebrated sports and made Olympics, Olympics was the biggest sporting event in the Ancient calendar.

Back then the sports that the athletes played were, 200m run, discus, javelin, long jump, wrestling or boxing, and horse racing. 200m run was the first sport that happened in the Olympics, each year a new sporting event started. At the ancient Olympics games only men were allowed to participate in the Olympics, nowadays women and men are allowed to join. Overtime, the ancient Olympic games has changed a lot.

The Olympic games has changed overtime because there are more games in the Ancient Olympics. Back then, the Olympics were only held at Greece when right now it takes part in different countries. In the Ancient Olympics if you won a sporting event you will receive a good welcome back or a wreath of leaves, nowadays you will be given either a gold, silver, or bronze medal.

I am really looking forward to the Olympics 2016, I can't wait to see it. I really hope New Zealand win a sporting event or makes it in the finals, My favourite of all time is Valerie Adams.  My favourite sport that happens to be in the Olympics is shot put or running, I am very excited to watch the Olympics.

I saw Derek with a red face looking down I could tell his temperature for emotions are getting to the point of him getting irritated. Each day he gets bullied I always tried a way to stop it but nothing happened. With every small step he took he was getting angrier, people  with big  mouths shouting out words directly to him, Straight away I  knew Derek was getting bullied. He walked past me very frustrated I calmly talked to him but he didn't want my attention, so I tried telling them to stop it but it wasn't quite working. The people were getting louder and louder like there was a celebration happening, I suddenly saw Derek but he quickly ran so I waited until he was completely ok.

Presayus Waitangi

The Treaty Today.
With the signing of the Treaty in 1840, Maori and Pakeha began the long journey towards creating a nation together.
Throughout this time, the Treaty has never lost its importance. And today, perhaps more than ever, it is helping to forge productive working relationships between Maori and other New Zealanders.
The journey continues – and it involves everyone living in this country.

The Treaty up close
British representatives wrote the Treaty in a hurry, then spent seven months working to get as many Rangatira (chiefs) to sign it as possible. But the Treaty meant different things to different people.
Nearby you can find out exactly what the Treaty said, and see why it has caused so much debate – both in 1840 when it was signed and now
Maori and the British
Māori and British first met when Captain James Cook visited these shores in 1769. Over the next seventy years contact increased, until the two cultures were linked by complex personal, political, and business relationships.
In this part of the exhibition you can explore how this relationship built up and led to the signing of the Treaty in 1840.

My 2015 reflection

WALT: Write a quality reflection that shares what you gained from 2015 and what you are looking forward to accomplishing in 2016.

Well now it is 2016 and thinking back in 2015 it was pretty cool but my favourite activity last year was going camp Bentzon. I think i did pretty good in maths moving up three years in Math Whizz and that is all i could think of but i also liked athletics and playing capture the flag.I think my learning in 2015 was good and very helpful with my learning and tinkering tools and toy was fun creating music instruments.

In 2016 I am looking forward to make my writing and reading go in a higher level from last year and keep doing my best in maths. So my goals are writing and reading and i also need to focus more and don’t get distracted easily.
