chicken flavoured worms.

WALT:write a detailed introduction with hook and orientation.
Has your teacher fed you chicken flavoured worms? Well they're not actually worms they were noodles, at least i hope they were noodles. I will tell you what we did.

I have learned how to do a detailed introduction and complex and how to do a question in my intro.I have enjoyed and learned what a intro is and how to make it more interesting for my audience to read and enjoy it.what i have learned helped me with my learning and making me go to a higher level.

Dotterels chicks

WALT:Look beyond the text.

Today hokey pokey group been learning about Dotterels.A Dotterel is a kind of bird native to New Zealand That hides between sand and driftwood. Dotterels well there is not many in New Zealand so we have to keep more careful and make sure we don't step on the Dotterels nest. Dotterels enemy's are... Humans(us), Black-backed gulls, dogs, cats, weasels, stoats , and four wheel drive, that's a lot of enemy's. Dotterel's usually live in Mangawhai, Waiheke, Waipu and heaps other places. Did you know that New Zealand Dotterels are shorebirds,usually found on sandy beaches and sandspits or feeding on tidal estuaries, Did you know that there are only 1700 Dotterel birds left in NZ and did you know that they are mostly pale grey on the black, with off-white underpants which become flushed with rusty-orange in water and spring.they have a prominent head large dark brown eyes and strong black bill. We should be more careful with Dotterel birds because if we don't look after them then they will be extinct.There nest look like sand and driftwood.

Today i have learn't what Dotterels are and who the Dotterels enemy's are and how they scare people away.I got this information from this doc.

Duffy Theater

WALT:follow the structure of a recount to produce a piece of writing.

Have you guys been to a Duffy Theater?i did that was on Monday heaps of people went. What we did was we just played some games it was at pt England hall.Duffy said that we  need to help Sienna by letting her read books so she can not go in detention anymore.

There was three people and they said they were playing some people there was Duffy,Sienna, and Sienna’s mum.They told us to say Duffy on three  “one two three DUFFY!” that was pretty loud. Once Duffy walked in he had a guitar and we had to sing the duffy song. We played some games and it was Simon says it was a little hard and they even played silly jokes too.

When it started Sienna’s mum started talking Samoan to her and was trying to look for the keys so she can go to work. Sienna asked her mum if she could help her with her homework but she couldn't. When then she had to go to school she had to go to detention for not finishing her homework. When school finished she waited for the rain to stop at the library when Duffy came out he saw her so he tried to make her go inside. A few minutes later she went inside she saw the librarian. Sienna wanted to read a book so they tried to find what she liked finally they found Harry potter.

On the next day Sienna came to the library. She found this wonderful book and it was Maui and the sun when she opened the book and out came these puppets one was a Sun and one was a Demigod named Maui. But Maui needed help so he asked Sienna to help all she needed to do was give her hand and then she’s in the  story. SHUT! she told herself that she actually helped someone. She saw a fairy garden in her imagination but she tried to get her out of her head but she couldn’t and then she started to sing “Tinka tinka tinka tinka tink la la la” and then she started to rap.

 

When her mum walked in she looked at the library and she didn’t like it. Sienna didn’t like the library to but now she does. The mum wanted a fishing book but first she had to sign the paper first for Sienna’s library card. Once the Mum signed it Sienna could get heaps of books but now the mum wants one so she signed it too.

Once it was finished we all had to go to our classes but Akosita,Inez,Talita and I went to do patrols so we had to go early i enjoyed the duffy show and it was very crack up to and how they did the library and quizzes and the sound effects. The Duffy show was cool and it was long to but i felt excited when it started and how they will always sing songs and i how they acted.

I learned that reading is important and that if you keep on reading then you go to a higher level and you get smarter and that you can encourage people to read.

I have learned how to use fractions with cubes and two different colours.I even learn't how to make predictions.
